Albert Lourtie (1893 -1952)
Born into a Belgian family of master brewers, Albert Lourtie arrived in Portugal in 1918, after the German occupation had destroyed his father’s brasserie during the First World War where he was taken prisoner. It was in his father’s factory in Liège that Albert would acquire the knowledge bases to later become one of the most influential master brewers in Portugal.

In fact, he became very important in the development of the Portuguese brewing industry after becoming a factory manager of the most prestigious national brewer brands such as Portugália and Central de Cervejas. The Albert Liège Spelt Ale is a tribute to the master and represents the typical Liège's beer style, popular in the early 20th century. A partnership between two notorious Portuguese brands of craft beer, Trevo and Trindade.

Open sesame!
Peel and reveal labels are multi-page labels that are lightly glued together – so the reader can peel off layers and read what’s underneath. In this case we added Albert Liège Spelt Ale recipe’s and a short biography supported by an illustration.

Unfolding to some materials
In addition to the label, other communication materials were designed such as an electronic invitation, a poster, social networking ads and a coaster. Here I present you two of them:
